How To Start Over
Sometimes, it can be so important to just completely stop what you’re doing and revert back to the beginning to a fresh new start.
We can sometimes have this awful tendency of starting something new without a direct plan or any achievable goals, which then results in us abandoning our vision or the vision just simply failing.
It’s so important that we are able to take a step back and observe what we are trying to achieve and the ways in which we are trying to achieve it.
No more leaving things half way!
If you’re just not able to continue and persevere, then nothing is wrong with going back to the basics and starting afresh.
So, in this blog post, I’ll be sharing the steps in which you can start that project, that dream, that habit, that lifestyle all over again and become successful. Let’s dive in :)
So, Before You Make The Decision To Start Over, You Need To Have The Right Mindset
This means that your mind should be disciplined and also ready for whatever obstacles that might alarm you along the road to success.
You need to constantly remind yourself that you will be:
Motivated and persistent
Consistent and disciplined
And also, successful
I personally believe that these 5 things are the key to success alongside being passionate and producing quality service and content.
Now that your mentality is all set, let’s move on!
Step 1: Make A Note Of What The Ultimate Success Is To You
Please don’t be vague or general when doing this. Be honest with yourself and the dreams you’re striving towards.
If your ultimate success is to be making a huge amount of income a month or to have your book published, selling thousands of copies worldwide, then have no shame with it and write it down. No need to sugar code it or be realistic with your goals...yet.
For now, dream big and aim high.
See yourself over the finish line, leaving all the challenges, tiring efforts and sleepless nights behind and stepping into a place where you witness all your hard work playing out before you.
Step 2: Break Up Your Goals Into Small Chunks And Remember To Be Specific
Now that you’ve finished establishing what your long term goal is, now is the time where you dive in a bit further and break up your goals in small bite size chunks.
This will make it easier for you to swallow and accomplish your goals clearly and orderly.
Focusing on mastering the simple things that make up your ultimate goal can be the easiest and the sensible thing to do rather than jumping in head first and seeing where this path will take you.
Instead of having success randomly finding you, go out with a plan and find success yourself.
Step 3: Create Deadlines
No one likes putting all their effort, time and energy into something that wasn’t even worth it at the end.
So it’s extremely important that you set reasonable deadlines for yourself in order for you to push yourself into seeing some sort of growth.
Doing this will also make it easier for you to reflect back at the things you’ve done, so that you can decide whether it is suitable for you to keep on going or to forget about it.
Creating a deadline can be extremely important as it reveals the amount of work you’ve inserted into that particular project or lifestyle, making you see whether you’ve done enough or could have done better.
This to me, is a great way to track your progress and it pushes you a tad bit closer to success.
Step 4: Take. Your. Time.
It’s so important that you have a clear vision and that you are patient and smart with how you will reach your long term goals.
Take time to sit back, plan and research in order to give your goals some structure and support.
Fast Success
For many people, just one viral video or one seasonal product is all they are striving towards in order to gain a level of success.
Fast success can be great depending on which field you’re in, for example: publishing a book, otherwise it can sometimes fizzle out just as fast as it appeared.
Fast success can sometimes be extremely overwhelming and exhausting since it isn’t something you might be accustomed to.
It takes so much more effort to keep up with the surge of demands and it takes an immense amount of work trying to hold onto that success and build it up more.
Honestly speaking, gaining success on a faster scale can happen to anyone even if you do have a plan. But with a plan, it’ll make it easier for you to see what it is that needs to be done in order for you to maintain your success.
Gradual Success
Many people find it easier to reach their goals when they are seeing their success gradually escalate.
It makes it easier for them to see what is working and the things that aren’t really necessary.
Gaining success at a more reasonable pace can be really great as you are able to appreciate your time, effort and your supporters a lot more.
It also gives you this satisfaction and excitement when you reach another stepping stone in your journey and it also makes it easier to change and adapt without judgement.
Step 5: Switch It Up!
The process of starting over, means that you will have to do things a lot more differently than before.
Make a note of the things that should have been incorporated from the start and the things that added no value.
It’s important to not make the same mistakes the second time around.
Researching and looking at other people’s journeys could give you a better insight to what you did wrong and the things you haven’t even done.
Pay attention to detail. Notice and observe the small mishaps that had previously occurred and change them around into something that will be beneficial in regards to your goals.
Step 6: Recharge Your Mind
Pretend that this is your first go instead of a second try.
But have the same drive and excitement or even more willpower and excitement like you did when you previously attempted that goal.
Recharging your mind means that you’ll have to rinse out all the negativity, obstacles and challenges that will be lingering ahead.
Refocus your eyesight to that finish line and see your prize in plain sight waiting for you to grab and take it home.
Step 7: Believe
Try not to look back until you finally reach your peak or the level of success you were initially aiming for.
Although, I’ve written this as the last step to starting over, believing is actually one of the first steps to achieving something.
Pick up your head and believe that your goals will happen and come to pass.
Leave the “ifs”, the “buts”, and the “can’ts” in the trash and believe that “it will”.
Well, That’s It Folks
