10 Interesting Things You Can Do To Pass The Time
For some strange reason, whenever I don’t have a lot of time on my hands, I always find a mountain of things to do.
But whenever I do have some spare time, I’ll always find myself staring into space, idling around and before you know it, I’ve wasted the whole day.
So, in this blog post, I’ve decided to gather a list of 10 interesting things you could be doing instead of watching Divergent for the seven hundredth time. Let’s dive in :)

#1 Put Everything In Your Basket
Even if you know that you’re definitely not going to buy that really expensive bag from the Chanel site, still put it in the basket.
If you fancy that yellow jumpsuit from Shein, chuck it in the basket.
If you like that dress from prettylittlethings, shove it in your basket.
If you know full well that there's no way you’ll ever wait for that plain, white sunglasses off the Wish site for 3 entire months, still dump it in the basket.
See it as window shopping... but online!
The amount of things I’ve put in my basket is actually hilarious especially since I have not bought not even one of those items.
It’s just the process of seeing pretty things and almost claiming it as my own that is soothing, entertaining and time passing.
You should try it :)
#2 Do A Movie Marathon
Watching movies one after the other can either be exhausting or very entertaining. I wouldn’t say that this is something productive but it sure does have a way of passing the time.
All you need to do is grab a piece of paper and pencil and write down a theme. Next, find movies relating to that theme and go ahead, sit back and relax and entertain yourself.
For example:
If you feel like doing a Christmas movie marathon you might write down movies like
Love Actually
Home alone
And I don’t know...the grinch?
But you get the point.
One blink and you’ll notice that hours have passed.
#3 Practice Self care
Practising self care is something that most people neglect and constantly overlook.
If you have some spare time on your hands and you’re struggling to find things to occupy that time, then investing some quality time with yourself is a great way to start.
There are endless amounts of things you can do to treat, relax and reward yourself.
You could:
Invest time with your hair
Dress up
Talking about dressing up, you could also.
#4 Make Outfits
I hate trying on clothes to just have to take them off and then try on something else. It takes too much energy and it's quite boring.
But
What else is a girl supposed to do when she gets an off day from school and doesn't exactly feel like studying, but has no clue what she can do to pass the time?
She tries to turn herself into an overnight supermodel of course….um, not really.
But premaking outfits for upcoming events is a really productive way to utilise the time you have.
Also, if you’re anything like me, doing this gives you the opportunity to see those clothing items you didn’t even know you had or even existed.
#5 Make A Playlist For Each Of Your Moods
This may seem boring and pointless to you now, but as soon as you find yourself in a depressing and annoyed state, this might just become your number one help and best friend.
I mean, it doesn’t hurt to try right?
Not only will it be sweet music to your ears but you’ll also acknowledge how time starts to fly by quickly.
Seriously, give it ago.
#6 Take Part In The Dumb Radio Games
What can I say?
You might just be the lucky person to win that £1500 just because you knew the exact lyrics of an Ariana Grande song.
It’s dumb until you try it for yourself so let me know how it goes.
Pssst: if you do win,I’ll take my 25% as a cheque :) :) :)
#7 Workout...you’re too lazy!
Planning and saying that I’m going to do a workout routine for the next day is so much easier to say and write down in my planner, than actually doing the damn thing!
It’s an even bigger pain to say that you’re going to do it first thing in the morning because I can assure you it takes so much motivation and strength to actually get out of bed and start getting active.
But even if it’s a simple 5 minute session, you should still go ahead and do it and be proud of that small accomplishment.
#8 Eat
Yes, Yes I’m aware how brainless it is to say that you should workout and then right after, here I am telling you to stuff your face.
But That’s Not The Point
Why not take out your recipe book and cook up a storm?
Surprise your family with a huge feast and don’t you dare forget to leave me some :)
Make or attempt to make your favourite dishes and then sit down and savour all the flavours one at a time.
If you’re someone like me who has not yet mastered the art of cooking then a great way to pass time is to write down delicious recipes that you’ll someday love to make and try out.
#9 Deep Clean Or Organise Something
This is a great tactic to beat procrastination and it’s also a very good way of passing the time quickly.
Personally for me, whenever I say that I’m going to organise something in particular, I will then go on to organise something else and then something else resulting in me having no more time to do anything else within my day except organise stuff.
But if you’re not like me and your surroundings don’t necessarily need a deep cleaning then you should:
Organise the files and documents on your phone
And make folders for literally everything on your laptop
#10 Go On A Drive
A calm drive out in the open fresh air seems great especially in passing the time.
This seems to work better if you have a car or a vehicle of your own but don't’ be discouraged if you don’t.
A simple walk in your neighbourhood and a bus drive out is also a great tactic in passing time.
Here’s a quote for you to take while you leave:
Time moves slowly but passes quickly
Well, That’s It Folks
