10 Things To Do After Quarantine Is Over
Quarantine is gradually taking its departure which is great for some people and depressing to others (cough, cough me).
Regardless of how you feel, it’s quite clear that things are going back to normal.
Personally, I’ve only been out twice since quarantine started. One was to get some exercise at the park and the other was to attend my sixth form orientation. Pretty boring, I know. But you should have seen my face when I was finally able to see people...actual humans apart from my family, for like the first time in forever. Yeah, um...I kinda didn’t like it :)
But anyhoo…
Although I don’t mind being stuck in the house all day, I couldn't stop my brain from questioning “what on earth was I going to do once quarantine was finally over?”
That annoying thought led me to create this post in which I’ll be sharing with you: 10 things that you can do after the treacherous quarantine passes over. So let’s dive in :)

So, Here Are The Main Things That Will be Addressed In This Blog Post
The different things you can do after quarantine
And whether or not you should do these things straight away
#1 Don’t Even Think About Going Out...Yet!
For most of us, if not all, we’ll have to wait on that government order on which specific day we’ll be finally able to regain some sort of liberty and walk out our front doors into the polluted, I mean fresh, air.
So I’m guessing that on that day, restaurants, shops, stores and buses will all have an overload of people too excited to see each other that they’ll totally forget about certain precautions.
With that being said, I suggest you take a few days staying inside even though this may sound like torture but no one cares more about your health than you do. So, it’s truly important that you put you and the people in your household, first.
However, If you are still planning on going out, perhaps to catch up with some of your friends, then it’s a good idea to go somewhere that is more isolated and has a lot of space.
#2 Get Those Important Errands Completed
Again, I know how unexciting this may sound and it probably is. It’s definitely not something that I’m personally looking forward to but this is something that I definitely need to get done.
Whilst everyone else is distracted with parties, dinner, shopping and the gym. This will be a really good time to get some new contacts, renew your library card, quickly go to the dermatologist or to the optician or anything else that is deemed as important to you.
Whatever it is that is screaming importance in your life, quickly get it done.
And Now To The Interesting Things
#3 Celebrate
Now you finally have the time to truly celebrate that special event that you couldn't properly celebrate whilst being quarantined.
Whether it was an anniversary, a birthday or even a sentimental moment such as someone’s passing, celebrate it.
This is the time to do it, especially since it is more than likely that another Covid crisis will sneak up upon us in which we’ll sadly have to quarantine again.
With all of that being said, remember to celebrate with precautions.
#4 Do something recreational or relaxing
Here, I’ve gathered 10 Interesting things that I think you can do after quarantine:
Go to the cinema.
Go to the spa.
Go to the zoo. I’m sure all the animals missed your attention.
Go to a theme park or a trampoline park.
Go to a restaurant
Go Shopping
Go swimming
Go play a sport
Go to the gym
Go to the library. I’m sure the books were all crying tears of sadness due to your absence.
#5 Travel
For many teens like me, this is just not something that we’ll be able to do anytime soon solely because we’ll be packed like sardines in a can, in a strange building called school...ugh!
Surprisingly, I’m actually excited to go back to school but if for some great reason it turns out that I won’t actually be starting school this year at all, I shall not complain :)
But anyways, something that I’m 100% positive a lot of people will be doing after quarantine, is travelling. I don’t personally think this is a safe thing to do just yet but to each their own.
Are you planning on travelling? Tell me where to.
#6 Go To Church
Many churches have had to adapt to the new changes in the world and had to start introducing this weird concept of technology.
Churches will start to slowly reopen letting their congregation in which is an amazing factor to look forward to.
Let’s go claim our blessings :)
#7 Reminisce
When I finally had the opportunity to go out for the first time, everything started to look quite foreign and brand new to me.
No, no I didn't forget what my neighbourhood looked like but everything felt a bit different.
Hardly anyone was out on the streets. Kids weren’t riding their bicycles, cars with no ceilings weren’t blasting their stupid music and every place I went into was basically empty - which I kind of liked if I’m being completely honest.
What I’m saying is, it will do you well to just walk around your neighbourhood or to take a long drive out to various places just so you can get back into the feels of things.
#8 Pamper Yourself
During quarantine, I’m sure that you’ve learnt about different self care habits and ways to truly develop yourself as a person. If you haven’t been doing this then “Shame On You!”
I’m Kidding
But those two things should be deemed as something really important in everyone’s lives.
When quarantine is over, you might just want to treat yourself to a haircut, manicure, perhaps go to a concert, get a massage or anything that you find favor in.
Of Course always be aware of the risks pertaining to these things.
#9 Develop a new hobby
Hopefully this quarantine exposed a few things about yourself and one of them is probably that you’re too boring.
Some people stayed active and productive during quarantine because they had hobbies and skills to keep them occupied.
Other people were just plain out bored and exhausted for doing absolutely nothing because they had nothing to put their energy and focus on.
This could be a great wake up call telling you that you need to start doing something new.
For me, I always had things to do.
I started a blog, a podcast and I’m now on my way to start developing a small business. I also had fun playing the piano, the guitar and did a bit of artwork and DIYs.
I had at least five to six months so there was no way on earth I was just going to sit around and watch movies although earlier on, that was my intention.
Now, I’m so glad that I utilise my time wisely :)
#10 Start appreciating time and also the small things
If there’s one thing that this pandemic could have taught us was that time is extremely valuable.
There are so many times I’ve thought of weird things that could happen so that I wouldn’t have to do my end of year exams but to think that it would have become a reality is crazy and mind boggling to me.
The same small tests and exams that no one really cared about was now going to determine my academic future for the rest of my life.
It’s sad to think that I could have done so much more when it came to school and studying if only I cherished my time more.
Now, the whole world is on hold.
Certain things that were deemed as important are not important anymore. It’s crazy how things turn out.
Hopefully, this will be a wake up call to most of us as we can clearly see that nothing is impossible and that not everything in this world can be controlled.
But enough of the sad violins
Here’s a quote for you to take while you leave:
The world has slowed so that you can rediscover yourself
Well, That’s It Folks
